There are tons of applications of Computer Science in our daily lives. With it, we advanced in health care, we can have a conversation with our friends and families overseas and so on.
Saw how Computer Science is amazing? Yeah, but there is a cost for all those, Computer Science is not for everyone. It requires determination and some sorts of discipline.
That is why here on Dahdo Tech, we have compiled a list of signs and characters to really answer that question, "Is Computer Science for me?" use this as a quiz to check your compatibility with it. But before we begin, let's ask ourselves this question below.
Simply, What is Computer Science?
Computer Science is simply, a study of computers and a wide range of activities and actions that they perform. You learn about hardware and software and more importantly the theory behind it all. It is a study of solving real world problems leveraging the power of computers.
Now that we have understood that, let's see if Computer Science is for you as well as what you should know before choosing Computer Science as a major.
Here is a list of signs that shows if Computer Science is for you (is Computer Science for me quiz):
1. You like solving problems
Computer Science is simply a study of finding solution to the real world problems. This is the character that the most successful computer scientists share. When Mark Zuckerberg realized that his college needed a way of communication among students, he created Facebook just as small as for serving his fellow students.
The same scenario applies to Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft and Steve Jobs, it is for these two people we were able to have personal computers at home, work, etc.
So, if you have that character of being interested in finding solutions to problems, then you are good to go.
I remember my first days at coding, I was learning Java programming language and I personally like music so, I had a long download list of music to listen to on my computer but they were so duplicated. Some was downloaded twice, other being the remix.
They were so many that I couldn't sit down and refine them, as a solution, I sat down and wrote some code in Java to solve the problem... hopefully, it worked! I at least had something to boast about☺😁. It was really big deal at that time.
2. You have that sense of creativity
Creativity is a set of all those imaginations you have towards something. In computer programming, no one codes like the other because there is not just one specific code to solve a certain problem.
You can all write really different code hence have them solving the problem. This is a clear sign that during your coding, you need creativity. For now, you may ask yourself, which computer science career is right for me? Well, if you have this sense of creativity, then Software Engineering is best fit for you.
If you didn't have a chance to code, maybe reading this article as guidance to help you decide if you should pursue Computer Science degree in college, this also applies to normal life. If you normally are a creative person this is a sign that Computer Science maybe right for you!
3. You are a very organized and attentive person
Computer Science is for you if you are a very organized and detail oriented person. In many Computer Science careers like Software Engineering, you will need to frequently go through a lot of planning, analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, etc.
Because that is what you are expected to face on a daily basis, you need to be such an organized person, ready to understand all the details involved during the process. Not only that, according to your career, you may be required to read documentation or write them as well.

4. You have an infinite desire to learn new things
Among the broadest majors, Computer Science is one of them. There is a lot to learn everyday be it a new programming language, new frameworks, or just any new technology.
Not only that, it is also one of the fastest growing careers. Example: If you look five years back, you may notice a massive change in Computer Science career; new technologies are discovered every year and for that you have to cope with it in order to stay updated, employable and so on.
So if you always have that desire to learn new stuff and improve on a daily basis, then Computer Science may be right for you. But if you really are that kind of person who don't want to learn new stuff, you may know that it isn't for you!
5. You like analyzing things
So, if you don't like analyzing, this may be the reason, Computer Science is not for you! But don't worry everything is possible if you are motivated enough.
6. You have curiosity for technology
Yes, everyone does love technology but not everyone really wants to dig deeper to really understand how it all works.
If you have that burning curiosity to really understand how the game you are playing functions down the hood, seeing it working and guess how it maybe implemented, the chances are Computer Science is a good fit for you.
But If you really don't care about technology at all, then this is a sign that Computer Science is not for you!
7. You are ready to spend many hours in front of a computer
I can remember my first days coding, I could spend the whole night up just coding. If you are ready to spend many hours in front of your computer screen then you are good to go!
That was a list of signs that shows if Computer Science major is for you. It does not mean you should have all of these but if you possess most of these qualities, it's a sign that Computer Science major is for you.
Also keep in mind that if you are motivated enough, you can achieve things you never thought you would.
